Starting off the new year with..Football!

Two days after my first game in London it was time to watch the next one. Arsenal against Fulham. Another London-Derby but this time at the Emirates stadium in the north.

Arriving at the Arsenal Underground Station!

First of all let me tell you one thing: When you arrive at the Underground Station "Arsenal", you will find out that it is not wheelchair friendly. There is no lift. Just stairs! Anyways, stay calm, remember that you are in London. There will always be people that help you. British people are so nice and friendly in my view. That´s not being given in every place I went. It is very special in this mega-city.

Shopping and hoping!

Firstly we had to buy some Arsenal kits. I got myself the away kit with the name "Lacazette", who even scored a goal that day. For my friend I bought a home kit. On the back of the shirt stands "Torreira - 11". To be honest, it took a while until my dad came back with the printed shirts because there were many many people, as you would expect it on a match day. Furthermore I took some photos and found some souvenirs. We slowly went out of the shop and moved on towards the ticket shop on the other side of the stadium. I remember the windy walk. I was pretty cold. We arrived at the back of the stadium, my Dad told me to wait some minutes and he went down the stairs to the ticket shop. Yeah, we actually did not have tickets. There was no one who got them for us as two days before. So I was there sitting in the windy north of London and hoping for luck. I also took some photos in that time. My Dad came back smiling "It looks very good, come with me." We walked down a long long ramp and came to the ticket shop. The woman was very nice. She printet out the tickets and I couldn´t stop smiling. I was so happy!

Into the stadium.

Going into a stadium you´ve never seen in real life is always a magic moment. Seeing the lights, the people, the players warming up is amazing. Honestly I think that the wheelchair spaces at the Emirates Stadium are one of the best ones I´ve seen until this day. You are not too far away from the ground and you can overlook the fans in front of you even if they stand up. This was not the case at Selhurst Park.

The game!

Arsenal played courageously and they controlled the happening. Granit Xhaka scored the first goal for Arsenal in the 25th minute after a solid cross by Alex Iwobi. Together with some outrageously good team play Alexandre Lacazette made it 2 for the home team. I was happy having his shirt in my back bag. Fulham got back in this game by a goal from the french striker Kamara, who is now on loan in Turkey by the way. Ramsey and Aubameyang scored the 3rd and 4th goal for Arsenal later on. They compiled this win. My man of the match was Sead Kolasinac. He drove the ball forward and worked back very well. Arsenal showed a good shape as a team.
