My first game in Italy!
In the last couple of years I was able to visit two stadiums in Italy: San Siro in Milan and Allianz stadium in Turin, but both during the summer break in July or August. During this time of the year most big clubs are at their training camp in the US, in Asia or wherever. So I never got to see a Serie A match of course and was even happier to finally get the chance to see one this May.
Cold matchday!
The weather in Udine was not the best that Saturday. It was quite windy with a little bit of rain. There are better conditions to watch a football match I would say. Just to clarify: As a wheelchair person you always feel a bit colder too because you don´t move like a normal person does. So always remember putting on warm clothes, otherwise your feet will feel like frozen.
The match!
The first chance of this game was a shot by Radja Nainggolan, who by the way celebrated his birthday on that day. Inter controlled the game and they played some really attractive football. I was a bit surprised by their mentality. I saw a few games this season where the team of Luciano Spalletti just played bad. Some minutes later a header from D´Ambrosio misses the goal by centimeters. But as Inter was quite far up front with most of the players Udinese was able to get some counter attacks. Actually very good ones. Seconds before the half time whistle a player of the home team went down in the penalty area but the referee did not give the pen. Critical decision in my opinion. To be fair, Udinese did not have a single chance in the second half of this saturday night game. Inter was pushing, trying hard to find the back of the net. But they were struggling. For me personally man of the match was Ivan Perisic. He is the most creative man at Inter in my view. All in all a 0-0 is of course what you never want to see. Football is all about goals. And even though there were no goals in this match I found it pretty entertaining.
Mauro Icardi´s shirt!
Mauro Icardi, 26 years old, from Rosario in Argentina is my favorite football player in the Serie A (Italian League). I was really looking forward to seeing him play, but he was not in the starting line up. Luckily he came on in minute 63, so I got to see him. But my wish of getting his shirt did not come true. I made a poster saying: Mauro, can I please get your shirt in Italian however he didn´t see it. What can you do, maybe next time!
